8 Simple Tips, Which Help You to Get Rid of Cockroaches

8 Simple Tips, Which Help You to Get Rid of Cockroaches Some significant cockroach prevention tips are given below: 1. First thing to do is contact a fumigation expert to inspect your apartment and recommend suitable treatments, because different treatment is applicable for different specie. 2. In order to nip the evil in the bud, take a quick action, even if you noticed a single cockroach at your place. Otherwise they will multiply into many as their reproduction rate (every 30 days for German cockroach and 50 days for American Cockroach) is quite fast. 3. Try to keep your food sealed and covered. Also try placing things in an organized way so it is easy to clean them. You see them in microwave because you left it unclean after use, the same is true with your refrigerator . 4. Try to empty your bin as soon as possible because stinky atmosphere also attracts cockroaches. 5. Keep empty bottles and cartons in a dry and clean atmosphere. Otherwise, make it a habit to discard and replace these recycle goods timely. 6. Routinely flush all your channels with concentrated pesticide to help kill them in soak-away and septic tank. 7. Now various insect repellents in the form of sprays are also easily available in markets, use it periodically say every month for 5 months to truncate their cycle. 8. Powdery insect repellents are also available but they may be dangerous for pets and geriatrics, so be careful where you place them. Please share to help others #DrPest #EverSafe

7 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT CENTIPEDES.

1. You can find them in cold, damp places example your kitchen, bathroom, inside the soil close to your foundation and bathroom water exit/channels. They are not friend of heat and sunlight.
2. They feed on insect like ants, cockroaches, bugs, etc in your house, meaning if your house is insect free they won't be comfortable staying where there is no meal.
3. They live in cracks and crevices in your home, that's why you should try to seal openings and cracks in your house. This is abortive sometimes as they can still live under pile of books and other immovable objects.
4. When you allow them to settle in your house, they cause infestation as they reproduce tiny offspring that becomes adult soon.
5. There are not poisonous but their bite can cause a very severe localize pain. This is bad in elderly as their metabolic rate may get high and lead to increase in blood pressure. The older they are, the more pain they inflict when they bite you.
6. We have hundreds of species of centipedes but the older they are the more ability to resist attack from pesticides. Meaning that the younger ones are easy to kill.
7. Dropping insect powder around where you have pile of things or where you rarely penetrate in your home and surrounding and also periodic fumigation can eliminate them.

5 WAYS TO ELIMINATE WALL GECKOS FROM YOUR HOME/OFFICE

There is a popular believe that gecko lizards aren't harmful and shouldn't be killed. In fact it is forbidden in some culture to kill them. But sadly, recent stories we have been reading via the internet has made this hitherto house friend an enemy.

Here are few tips that can help you eliminate or repel wall geckos in your apartment
1. Ensure you fix net in all your windows and doors (for door that is not properly sealed). This is because this creature has the potential to enter your home/office between few inches. The popular aluminium sliding windows isn't reliable as they stroll to your house with ease from the bottom even after closed.
2. If there is infestation, chase them with garlic. Cut garlic and expose them where you normally see the droplet of their faeces. This will scare them away. Gecko lizards does not like garlic smell, no wonder they are not found in kitchens where there are garlics.
3. Egg shell is another good tool in warding them off. Break the eggs  and leave the shells were their activities are common. This work like magic. Gecko lizards have phobia for egg shell. They always appear as their enemy.
4. Eliminate all insect in your house via routine fumigation or use of insect killer. Gecko lizards feed on insects and if insect are not available  in your home/office, they won't like to live there. So regular fumigation or use of insecticides can help eliminate insect in your house.
5. De-clutter your home/office. When there are enough luggage and baggage in your house/office, it gives them a perfect place to dwell. This should should be discouraged. Try to make your house/office as scanty as possible.  The same is true with your kitchen: avoid pilling of utensils and cartons in your kitchen so that they won't have a dwelling place.

7 Ways to keep pest away from your house

7 WAYS TO KEEP PEST AWAY FROM YOUR HOUSE
It is true that you want to keep pests out of your apartment. But you must realize that the way you keep your apartment plays a huge role in attracting these critters, so there are things you can do to decrease the chances of pests entering. Here are seven proactive ways you can help prevent pests in your apartment:

1. STORE FOOD PROPERLY

Vermin need to eat to survive, so naturally, they will be attracted to food. You should not leave food out or keep opened boxes or bags of food around. Items that do not belong in the refrigerator should preferably be stored in airtight containers to mask any smells that could attract the pests. If you have a dog or cat, you should even consider buying a storage container for the pet food instead of having an opened bag of food around.

2. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR APARTMENT CLEAN
Another way of avoiding pest problems is to keep your kitchen and entire apartment clean. You should not leave dishes out overnight that have scraps from last night’s dinner on them.

Wiping down the stove after cooking a meal is also important, as the grease can attract unwanted creatures. Wiping down counters, sweeping up crumbs and vacuuming on a regular schedule are also good habits to adopt.

The cleaner the apartment is, the less likely you are to have problems with pests.

3. DISPOSE TRASH PROPERLY

To dispose of trash properly, you should have a garbage can in their unit that has a lid on it. When the trash can is full, tie the bag up and bring it down to the trash receptacles that have been designated for the property.
Make sure that you place the bag inside the bin and place the lid securely on top.

4. DECLUTTER

Another measure you can take to keep pests away is to declutter your home. The more clutter you have in the space, the more hiding spots there are for insects and rodents.

You should avoid stacking piles of clothes or papers in corners. Moving objects around or pulling furniture away from walls to vacuum on a regular basis can help prevent pests from finding a comfortable spot to call home.

5. OPEN PACKAGES OUTDOORS

Another way pests can enter your home  is through package deliveries. If you think about it, these boxes are stored in warehouses where mice and insects could be running rampant. You are then bringing this filthy box directly into your home.

You may be unaware of this risk, so it is a good idea to trade caution. It is also a a good idea to open delivery packages outdoors, dispose of the box and packaging materials in the proper receptacle and then bring the contents of the package into your home.

 6. BE CAUTIOUS IN HOTEL AND PUBLIC PLACES

Bed bugs are a pest that can easily be brought back into one’s home in the course of everyday activities, such as going to the movies or traveling on the bus. Since they are so small, they often go unnoticed. You should:

Inspect the seat before you sit down in any public place, such as a movie theater. Avoid putting personal items on the floor. Avoid storing your luggage near the bed in a hotel room. Generally make it a habit of brushing yourself off before entering your apartment when you have spent time in a public area.

7. PERIODIC FUMIGATION

In order to have a pest-free apartment, it is pertinent to employ the services of a professional fumigator to fumigate your house at least thrice a year. By doing this you will not give room for some insects to complete their life cycles. For example, it takes only one cockroach egg to cause infestation in your house after six months. Cockroach eggs are resistant to pesticide (by way of adaptation). Their egg hatches in every 36 days. If not for high cost of living in Nigeria, it would have been pertinent to fumigate once in every two months but to be on the safe side, fumigating thrice a year will still help you forestall possible insects infestation.
